Designed whilst at Sebastian Conran Associates. Beta Design Office is now Eyra’s design partner.
Eyra set out to create beautiful products for later life, with an inherent focus on aesthetics and function. Designing for later life is a rapidly growing market sector however most products are void of creativity and appealing aesthetics.
Eyra is striving to create products for users that still care about design, making them accessible and desirable to all.
The handle shape is the result of a rigorous design and testing process by the Sebastian Conran Studio and Eyra’s in-house Occupational Therapist. They are designed to maintain a neutral position for your wrist, so they can be held comfortably in various grip angles.
The set of four ergonomic utensils includes a spatula, spaghetti server, stirring spoon, slotted spoon with aubergine and orange coloured handles, made from TPR plastic with nylon heads, and a hanging rack.
Eyra makes beautifully designed ergonomic homeware for people with reduced mobility: often older adults with minor age-related ailments, like arthritis.
Their products enhance dexterity without compromising quality or aesthetics, whilst being a design-led business focused on a premium market. The brand is setting the standard for quality inclusive design from which all homewares of this nature can be measured.
“The handles of our cooking utensils are angled, shaped, and weighted so that they sit comfortably in the hand. They function brilliantly and are lovely to look at. We’re absolutely delighted that MoMA Design Store has included our utensils in their new Spring assortment.”
